Tritonus Wimares prove themselves
as an ensemble of outstanding quality,
both in their solo performances […] and
in their finely balanced ensemble play-
ing. Whether in the Burlesque Suites,
Dumbarton Oaks or in the rich cantabile
Pulcinella-Suite: The performances avoid
sloppy interpretation, unthinking musical
routine, by allowing the music to breathe
in the phrasing and dynamics of each
small melodic episode.

The players obviously benefit from the
long orchestral experience of the musi- cal director Walter Hilgers, and his cham-
ber musical expertise as Professor of
Chamber Music at the venerable Weimar
College of Music.
Most clearly is their interpretation of the
Pulcinella-Suite, both ensemble and con-
ductor compare favourably with theirtop
international counterparts. To sum up:
a real pleasure to listen to.
